Call the Capitol Monday morning to urge support for Proposition 13

The following message was received yesterday from Jon Coupal, president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association:

On Monday, July 2, the California Assembly’s Committee on Revenue and Taxation will consider whether to support a special resolution, ACR 247, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Proposition 13.

Here’s a link to the text of the resolution.

We think every lawmaker should recognize the importance of keeping property taxes affordable and predictable in California so that people are not taxed out of their own homes. A resolution in honor of Proposition 13 is certainly something that the Legislature should support.

If you’d like to call the members of the committee to urge them to vote “Yes!” to supporting ACR 247, the resolution commemorating Proposition 13’s 40th anniversary, here are their names and contact numbers:

Autumn R. Burke (Chair)
Democrat – District 62

We hope the resolution will be passed in the committee and will get to the floor of the Assembly. If you’d like to contact your representative to urge a “Yes!” vote, or for any other reason, here’s the link where you can find your representative and his or her contact information. [NOTE: Fullerton residents can reach Assembly Member Sharon Quirk-Silva (D) at 916-319-2065, and state Senator Ling Ling Chang (R) at 916-651-4029.]

Sincerely,
