Saving the Fox Fullerton Theater was a dream for some local residents more than a decade ago that went awry. Restoration and retro-fitting was supposed to be done using private contributions, but instead it absorbed more than a million dollars in redevelopment funds (i.e., taxpayers’ money) and is still in a state of limbo. Tonight’s council study session will look at various options the city might want to consider in figuring out how to deal with this white elephant.
Matt Leslie has provided some good historical background and colorful observations on his Fullerton Rag blog.
The public comments portion of the meeting begins at 6:30. No presentations or awards are scheduled for this evening, so the actual business portion should start shortly thereafter.
