Fullerton police chief Dan Hughes leaving to work for Disney security

By Chris Haire, Orange County Register | Police Chief Dan Hughes, who emphasized community policing and help bring a calmness to the city in the wake of the Kelly Thomas controversy, is leaving Fullerton after 33 years to become the vice president of security for Disney. His last day with the Police Department is Nov. 11.

Fullerton announced Hughes’ retirement in a press release, and Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown confirmed his move to the entertainment company.
